„Eternal chat“

The project „Eternal chat“ consists of installations and photo prints. They all deal with different aspects of daily, but timeless and intercultural communication and emotions. The core of each individual installation consists of an original, antique machine mainly from the 50ies and 60ies like one-armed bandits, vending machines, gas pumps and gum dispensers. They have been bought at auctions in the USA and transported overseas to our main garage. Here, they have been mechanically revised and combined with graphic art, music, film clips and audio records. All machines are interactive by pulling a handle or pressing a button.

The whole material used for „Eternal chat“ is fully authentic, using TV, tabloids, internet, press releases , active survey of couples, and overheard handy talks in airports, bus stations and other public places as sources.

The key message of „Eternal chat“ is, that there is a common ground of communication, emotions and experience independent of age, personal background, ethnic group or individuality. There is also a common ground over centuries, because our projects combine quotes from over 2000 years of human society.
